New Mexican Facilities Leaders Present at IFMA World Workplace
University of New Mexico Sr. Project Manager and IFMA Fellow Mary Gauer, and Centennial Contractors Enterprises Sr. Manager of Market Development Lisa Cooley co-presented at IFMA World Workplace on October 8th. Both Mary and Lisa sit on tne New Mexico IFMA Board. The presentation titled "You want HOW much for that Change Order?: Controlling Construction Costs in the Public Sector," focused on how Job Order Contracting programs can help owners get a handle on construction costs. Case Study: Socorro Municipal Pool
Centennial provided a complete mechanical upgrade to this c. 1970 olympic-size swimming pool and wading pool. The City of Socorro was threatened with closure of this valuable recreational resource because it did not meet current New Mexico Environment Department requirements.

The University of Texas PMCS Construction HUB Forum
The 2009 Forum was held at the fabulous new AT&T Center on the Austin campus. Attended by many universites, in addition to multiple state entities, this was a successful and exciting event. Safety Training Marathons in North Texas
Centennial co-sponsored and conducted our fifth annual safety training marathon in north Texas. This was performed in conjunction with the following entities: Hispanic Contractors Association of Tejas; the OSHA Regional Office; Texas A&M Education Extension System; Richland Community College; and The University of Texas at Arlington.
The training was conducted in both English and Spanish on a Saturday so our sub-contractors had the best opportunity to participate.

Disaster Recovery at NASA in Houston, Texas
Following Hurricane Ike, Centennial’s Houston-South office, one of the NASA IDIQ contractors, was first in responsiveness after the historic storm. Our team performed an exceptional rapid response to the emergency call. The most essential repair work was began at Ellington Field.
NASA has expressed their appreciation for our response time and efforts. Our team truly exceeded expectations. Because of this success, NASA awarded additional Hurricane related projects to the Houston South CCE team.
