Centennial-Allied Teaming Agreement Poised to Help Federal Owners with Year-End Projects

SAN DIEGO, CA—August 28, 2008—Centennial Contractors Enterprises and Allied Industries have entered into a teaming agreement in Southern California. The partnership takes the form of a subcontractor-prime contractor relationship and will help Department of Defense installations in southern California by providing a high level of experience and expertise while meeting small business goals.

Centennial brings 15 years and $1.5 billion of experience in facility renovation and repair, having worked on hundreds of military installations nationwide. The company is a pioneer and expert in Job Order Contracting, and also has a growing Design-Build unit. Allied Industries also has a strong experience record in federal work, especially in environmental engineering and remediation, and is growing and developing its construction capabilities. Allied Industries is an 8(a), HUBZone and SDBE certified firm.

"This teaming arrangement will help build and diversify our business," says Fernando Gutierrez, Executive Vice-President of Allied. "Centennial has a strong record of supporting small business, both in the subcontracting arena and through mentoring programs. We believe they can help us take our business to the next level."

As federal government agencies struggle to get more done with fewer people resources, they are turning to innovative contracting teams that they can quickly access. Most of these teams combine a small or disadvantaged business with a larger, more experienced one, thus meeting the dual goals of supporting small business and ensuring predictable outcomes.

"Centennial takes a careful approach to teaming," says Ted Osborne, Vice-President for Southwest Operations for Centennial. "The two companies have spent a lot of time planning and working together and ensuring that we are aligned on vision and customer service ethic. Our capabilities are a good complement for each other. We’re excited that we’ve finalized this process just in time to help our customers with fiscal year-end work."

The capabilities of the Centennial-Allied team include general and trade construction, facilities renovation and repair, design-build as well as design-assist and value-engineering, abatement and remediation, and demolition and earthwork. The team offers the additional benefit of DCAA Compliant Enterprise Resource Systems including Fully Audited DCAA Indirect Rates.
