Know How to Use Your Fire Extinguisher
Centennial Contractors To Host Free Fire Extinguisher Training in Deer Park.
HOUSTON, TX—January 20, 2010— Most Americans have fire extinguishers in case of a fire, but what if you actually had to use it? Centennial Contractors Enterprises is making sure Houston public servants know how to handle their fire extinguishers should they ever need to.
The Job Order Contractor will host two free Fire Extinguisher Training Sessions on January 29th at 9am and 1pm at the City of Deer Park Fire Training Facility. This event is geared to the public owners that Centennial serves (Harris County and school districts that belong to Choice Facilities Partners), and also to local subcontractors that work on Centennial jobsites. There are a few open spaces, so Centennial is offering this free training to other public employees that are responsible for public safety, and to those who work with children. Safety is Centennial’s top priority. Its safety record puts it in the top five percent of Texas construction firms. Because this topic is so broad, the contractor decided to go beyond its regular job site safety training.
“I’m so glad we can present this information to our community, because it’s so important we’re prepared for a fire emergency at work or at home,” said Walter Won, project general manager at Centennial.
During the three-hour training session, participants will learn about the causes of fire, how to put out small fires, and how to properly use a fire extinguisher. In addition, they will have the opportunity to practice discharging a fire extinguisher.
